“I had a great time in Portimao, mainly because of the way we managed to overcome challenges through the weekend. This has always been a tricky circuit for me, but I do feel like I’ve made a big step compared to my previous performances here.
ポルティマオではすごくいい時間を過ごせました。主な理由は、週末を通して課題を乗り越えていけたことです。ここは僕にとってずっと難しいサーキットでしたが、これまでのここでの走りと比べて大きく前進できたと感じています。
It took us a few sessions to adapt the bike and find a setting that could help me push to the limit, but by race one we were quite close to the front. I had to drop the pace as there was a technical issue with the bike, but for most of the laps I was on a consistent pace. In race two, my start was miserable to say the least, and I dropped to the back of the field. However, the bike felt good and I pushed my way up to the front, reaching the top 5 and battling with some guys with a lot more experience than me in the Championship.
バイクを合わせ込み、限界までプッシュできるセッティングを見つけるまでに何セッションかかかりましたが、レース1の頃には先頭集団にかなり近づいていました。バイクに技術的なトラブルが出たためペースを落とさざるを得ませんでしたが、ほとんどの周回は安定したペースで走れていました。レース2はスタートが控えめに言ってもひどく、集団の最後尾まで落ちてしまいました。それでもバイクの感触はよく、前へと追い上げてトップ5まで浮上し、この選手権で僕よりずっと経験のあるライダーたちとバトルすることができました。
We are working in the right direction and I am looking forwards to continuing my growth in the Moto2 class.”
