2025 WSSP Misano, weekend

Misano turned out to be a difficult weekend from the start. On Friday, we were out for free practice and Superpole, but unfortunately I struggled with issues on the bike in both sessions. We weren’t able to solve them right away, so the focus shifted to analyzing the data and trying to understand where and how we could improve ahead of the race.

The team worked hard overnight and managed to find the source of the main problems we had on Friday. In Saturday’s warm-up, I immediately improved my lap time, even though the setting still wasn’t perfect. I started the race from the back of the grid, and on the second lap, the front locked up and I crashed out. Since gathering data is crucial to help us move forward, I returned to the pit box, and the team did an amazing job getting the bike ready again so I could rejoin the race. We collected more information, and our goal was to use it to take another step on Sunday.

Sunday’s warm-up confirmed we were heading in the right direction. With the data from Saturday, we made more adjustments and the overall feeling was better—I could push with more confidence. In the race, I started working my way up from the back, and things were going quite well. But with about six laps to go at Turn 14, the bike suddenly went into neutral and then reengaged into first gear, which caused a high side. It was a heavy crash, but thankfully I wasn’t injured. I’m really grateful to the Misano medical staff for their quick response and support—I was lucky to walk away from it.

We’re clearly not where we want to be yet, but we’ll regroup and come back stronger. There’s still a lot of work ahead, and I’m fully committed to making progress with the team.
