2025 WSSP Cremona, weekend

We didn’t get any testing done at Cremona, so Friday was all about getting to grips with the track and nailing the best set-up. We didn’t go for fast laps in the morning session and instead focused on building a solid feeling on the bike. In the Superpole, we made a few adjustments that gave me more confidence, and that allowed me to push for a quicker lap time. There were still some small areas we needed improve, but we managed to bring our CBR600 just one second away from the fastest rider—which isn’t bad considering the circumstances. We planned to use the warm-up to see if we could take another step forward.

Saturday started off promisingly. The cooler temperatures in the morning gave us good track conditions, and the feeling on used tyres was solid. In the race, I defended my position in the opening corners and then started working my way up toward the points zone. Unfortunately, just a few laps in, I lost the front at Turn 2 and crashed. The feeling with the bike was good, and I didn’t have any warning signs, so it caught me by surprise. We went through the data afterwards to understand what happened and prepared for Sunday.

On Sunday, we recovered the positive feeling I had on the bike, making just a few small tweaks to the front end during warm-up. I was a bit more cautious in the early laps, holding my ground. Once the race settled down, I found my rhythm and started pushing. The main challenge was overtaking—there aren’t many clear passing spots here, and the other riders were pulling away on the straights. In the end, we finished in the points, which is a decent outcome. However, I know we can do better: we’ll keep working to close the gap and aim for stronger results.
