2025 WSSP Assen, weekend

We came into the Assen weekend ready to keep building on our progress, and Friday started off on the right foot. In the morning session, we focused on refining the bike setup and made some small adjustments on the electronics. During Superpole, the times were incredibly tight—it really shows how competitive World Supersport is. We tried to get the most out of the soft tyre and managed a 1’37.8, which gave us a decent position on the grid. It felt like we were heading in a good direction.

Saturday started well in warm up—I had a good feeling with the bike and we were close to the top-10 pace. However, the race didn’t work out as well. After the red flag, we went through the quick start procedure, but once I reached the grid I ran into a technical issue. I rushed back to the box, but there just wasn’t enough time to fix the bike. It was frustrating to miss the race completely, especially knowing we had the pace to fight for points.

On Sunday, I was determined to make up for it. I had a solid rhythm during the race and kept pushing forward, even though I was struggling with the front of the bike. Lap after lap, I worked my way back into the fight for the points zone. But since we had no data from Saturday, it was hard to anticipate how the bike would behave towards the end. On the final lap, I lost the front and crashed out. It’s a tough one to take—leaving Assen with nothing after showing potential to fight near the top 10 isn’t easy—but we’ll keep working and come back stronger at the next round.
